Standing in Will's bedroom tonight at bedtime, I gave him a big hug before I put him in the crib and he held on tight. We stood like that for a while--me hugging him, rocking him back and forth, while his head rested on my shoulder. Then, he looked up at me and said "I ouuu" (I love you).
These are the moments that make this all so very worthwhile, indeed.
