Will: Mama, where's daddy?
Me: He's still at work, baby.
Will: I wanna go to work with daddy...(whiny voice)
Me: You can't go to work.
Will: Why?
Me: Because work is for big people.
Will: Why?
Me: That's just the way it works. You go to school and mommy and daddy go to work.
Will: But I want to go to work!

Will: I go to work next year.
Me: hmm? (distracted, emptying dish washer)
Will: I go to work next year.
Me: You'll go to work next year?
Will: Yes, mama. I go to work next year.
Me: We'll see.
Will: Let's try mama. Let's try.
